Hellloooo? It’s me. I was wondering if after all of these weeeeeks you would like to meet..
Okay, okay.. no more Adele, but I thought it was definitely needed since I have been taking a little bit of a blogging break in June! No excuses, but I was feeling like our content was subpar, and I just needed to get through June to start back up again. Since we’ve chatted, we went to Detroit with the kiddos that I coach in volleyball for our last tournament of the year. It was a blast and we were right by Canada! So much fun!
Find all Disney 101 tips and tricks, here!
Since we are back in action today on the first Thursday of the month, I wanted to cover the topic of Disney FastPasses for this months Disney 101 post because it is overlooked a lot. When in reality, it was one of the most important parts of your trip!
When planning your dream Disney vacay, first make sure you have the app downloaded. I think we should totally do a post JUST about the app because it is so helpful to your vacation! I wouldn’t get too detailed right now, but it pretty much has your entire trip in one place. So helpful.
Alrighty, let’s focus on the Disney FastPass+ now…
Why are Disney FastPass+ important?
The Disney FastPass+ has grown a ton over the years, for the better. Some of the changes are a bit annoying, but it makes sense of why they did this. The main point of the program is to save you time riding rides. When you have a park ticket, you are able to reserve times that you want to ride or see an attraction. You can receive the passes for main rides or even character interactions!
When can I reserve my Disney FastPass+?
You can reserve your Disney FastPass+ within 30 days of your trip when you purchase park tickets. However, if you are staying on a Disney Resort {new to this year, Disney Spring Resorts}, you can reserve your Disney FastPass+ 60 DAYS in advance prior to your check-in date. You will be able to reserve the Disney FastPass+ for your entire stay.
How can I reserve my Disney FastPass+?
When you are either 30 or 60 days out, you just log on to your My Disney Experience Account and click on your account information. Once you are there, it will have all of your trip details. All you have to do is find your Disney FastPass+ option and it will let you know when you are able to reserve them.
Pro tip: Make sure you have ALL of your days planned out before you reserve your Disney FastPass+! Having your schedule set will make reserving your Disney FastPass+ a lot easier because you will know exactly which park you will be going to each day, your dinner schedule or character breakfast times, etc.
What time should I reserve my Disney FastPass+?
This all depends on when you plan on starting your day. If you plan on arriving at opening, do not get your FP+ until after 10-11am. Why you ask? Because right when you get to the park, you will be able to do a lot of rides with little wait. The park will start to fill up as the day goes on, so that is when you want your FastPass+! The FP+ times are an hour, an example would be that you had from 10:20am – 11:20am to ride Peter Pan’s Flight.
How many Disney FastPass+ can I reserve in a day?
You are able to reserve 3 Disney Fastpass+ for each day in advance! However, once you are completed with your three for the day, you can go on the My Disney Experience App, and see if anymore are available to pick up!
What rides/attractions can I use Disney FastPass+?
Each park has a different amount of rides/attractions you can sign up for! One of the changes they made is that they do not allow you to receive FastPass+ for all of the popular rides in each park. Meaning, rides are in different tiers. You can pick 1 ride from Tier 1 and 2 rides from Tier 2. This allows a more even distribution of fast passes because if not, everyone would just pick all of the popular rides.
Here are the tiers for each park.. {Magic Kingdom does not have tiers! They are all open!}
note: With Toy Story Land opening at Hollywood Studios, the Tiers were moved around so all TSL rides are in Tier 1.
note: I pulled the tier information from the Disney Mom Panel site, you can find it here!

How do I access my Disney FastPass+ at the parks?
This is the easy part. All of your FastPass+ will be linked on your MagicBand! All you have to do is scan your MagicBand at the FastPass+ entrance and you are good to go once Mickey turns green!
Where do I go to redeem my Disney FastPass+?
For every ride that has a FastPass+, they have a different entrance where you will scan your MagicBand. Most of the time the FastPass+ line is right by the Stand-By line. If you are not able to find the FastPass+ line, just ask a Cast Member! 🙂
Finally.. do not be late for your FastPass+ time!! The Cast Members will sometimes give you a grace period, but don’t count on it! Just be on time!
xxoo,
nicole
