Disney is always fun. We all know that by now! However, just like every place in the world, there are tons of people. like tons. thousands at that! Attending an after hours event at Walt Disney World is officially on our must do list every time! We have attended a few, so when we planned our honeymoon and saw the new Villains After Hours event on one of the nights, we knew we had to go!
Similar to the Halloween party, you were allowed to wear costumes into the park! I couldn’t talk Jackson into dressing up with me so I opted for my villains tank from Box Lunch and purple potion ears (these are currently sold out)!
Right when you enter into Magic Kingdom, you are greeted with the villain theme on the train station! Purple is my favorite color so I loved seeing it around the park! As we turned down main street, you can see all of the villains come to life. If Disney does one thing REALLY REALLY well.. it is making sure the theme is on-point. They commit 100%, which makes the experience extra magical. During the villains event, they even had special merchandise for purchase, which of course I had to get!
Knowing that we were going to this event, we planned our fast passes and other Magic Kingdom day accordingly. Therefore, we knew which rides we were going to hit during the day and than at the event. No matter what time of day, the crowds grow in Fantasyland first and increase as the day goes on. Therefore, we visited Magic Kingdom at rope drop and visited all of the Fantasyland, therefore we didn’t have to go there during the After Hours Event!
Where should I start?
After you take in all of Main Street, head right to Tomorrowland. Space Mountain {and Privates of the Caribbean} had a surprise change to the ride for the event, so we couldn’t miss those! Once we rode everything we wanted to in Tomorrowland, we hit up the snack cart because your entry fee includes drinks and snacks {full size!}.
Since the villain’s theme was so prominent throughout the park, we stopped in front of the castle for a few photos before heading to Adventureland. You could also do a few meet and greets with Disney villains and special photo pass stops! We worked our way around the park and ended on main street to watch the fireworks show!
I will say that the After Hours Events are becoming more popular. The first event we attended, we literally ran the park. It was so special and something Jackson and I will never forget. We have been to events like these all throughout the year, and they are getting more crowded.
However, when Jackson saw that there is an After Hours Event during our trip in January, he said, “We are going to that right?”. I think you know what the answer is! 🙂
