I am just going to take a quick moment and say how freaking amazing the Beach Club is before I explain why. It was everything we hoped for and more.
Whenever we visit Disney World, we stay at Old Key West because that is my grandparents home resort for their Disney Vacation Club membership. Since that is where their membership is, we don’t really stay anywhere else. Therefore, when we started planning our Walt Disney World honeymoon, we wanted to stay somewhere different.
We looked at a few different places, but ended going with the Beach Club for many different reasons – mainly for the location and the overall feel of the resort. I stayed at the Beach Club for a few days before our Disney Cruise when I was little. This was Jackson’s first time.
Location
The location of the Beach Club is hard to beat. When planning our honeymoon, we knew we wanted to do all of the things but also have easy access to our resort if we wanted to head back in the middle of the day.
With the Beach Club right off of the boardwalk, you have quick access to meals and shops! We ended up walking around the boardwalk the last day of our trip, and really enjoyed it. I wish we spent more time there but we had too much fun being in the parks!
From the Beach Club, you can walk to the Boardwalk (3-5 minutes), Epcot (7-10ish minutes) and Hollywood Studios (20ish minutes). It was very convenient only having to take the bus to 2 parks – Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. If you do not feel like walking, you can also take the boat to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or the Boardwalk. This is about a 20-25 minute ride, and I highly suggest it when going to Hollywood Studios. We walked over to Hollywood Studios our first day, and never did it again. It is a pretty looooooong walk and it was hot. Save yourself, and take the ferry.
The Vibe
When staying on Disney property, you never leave the magic. However, I felt that x 1000 when staying at the Beach Club. To be honest, I am not sure why. Maybe it was because of the actual beach, the amazing pool, and literally just the smell of the lobby. I truly feels like home.
Picking a resort for you and your family feel like a challenge. To us, it was important to stay somewhere a little more fancy and somewhere that had a great pool. The Beach Club’s pool is hands down the best on property. It has a sand bottom and the coolest thing ever. Not to mention, the bomb af ice cream .5 seconds away!
Our vibe, and our new homes vibe, is very coastal, so the Beach Club fits us very well. The rooms are cozy, light and airy. We had a balcony view to the boardwalk and plenty of space for all of our matching outfits! 🙂
I asked Jackson what his favorite part about the Beach Club was and he also said he enjoyed the location and overall vibe of the resort. He also brought up how one of our favorite restaurants, Yachtsman, is only about a 4 minute walk from our room. The Yachtsman is located in the Yacht club, which is connected with the Beach Club. It is geared more towards adults and has a New-England yachting theme throughout the resort and in the rooms. When you are on property, you will often see “Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort” combined together.
PRO TIP: Even though you think the Boardwalk Resort is not far from the Beach Club, and the bus is right there.. do not get on it. Stay at the Beach Club bus station and wait. We took the Boardwalk bus LATE {like really late} one night, and let’s just say the walk back was A LOT further than we thought! Don’t make that mistake!
Would we stay at the Beach Club again? Absolutely. One of our biggest bucket list items is to stay at all of the Disney resorts, so we might not be back for awhile… but we definitely will be!
